Russ Whitlock is a retired National Park Service professional who spent 37 years with the agency. He is best known for his role as the superintendent of the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, a position he held from 2006 until his retirement in 2017.

During his decade-long tenure as superintendent of the LBJ National Historical Park, Russ became deeply familiar with the daily life and history of the Johnson family ranch. He frequently led VIP tours of the property and developed close relationships with family members, assistants, and friends of the Johnsons.
